During the Maggid (Telling of the Story of the Exodus), the fifth of fifteen
parts of the Passover Seder (Order),
attention is drawn by the Leader who uncovers the Matzah and lifts the
ceremonial plate reciting:
"Behold the MATZAH, bread of poverty,
which our ancestors ate in the land of Egypt.
Let all who are hungry come and eat; all who are needy, come and celebrate the
Passover with us.
Now we are here; next year may we observe the Passover in the Land of Israel.
Now many are still enslaved; next year may all men be free."
